Pre-Arrival Program for Nurses

Pre-Arrival Programs

You and your family can get free online services to help prepare for and adjust to life in Canada. These services are funded by the Government of Canada.

Outside Canada

You are an internationally Educated Nurse who has been approved for immigration to Canada on Permanent Resident or refugee status.

Online Programs

The PASS Pre-Arrival program consists of online programming and virtual meeting sessions with case managers and nursing mentors.

You are an internationally Educated Nurse, currently living in Canada, on Permanent Resident or refugee status. You are seeking licensure, registration or employment in nursing.

Newcomer Services

You and your family can get free in-person and online services to help prepare for and adjust to life in Canada. These services are funded by the Government of Canada.

Online and In-Person

The PASS Post-Arrival program consists of online programming and virtual meeting sessions with case managers and nursing mentors. In-Person sessions are available depending on location.

This program helps nurses prepare to work in Canada’s nursing profession.

PASS can support you to:

  • Explore pre-registration and regulated nursing employment opportunities 

Language of service: English

To be eligible for the PASS Program, along with proof of nursing background, you must also provide documentation showing that the Canadian Government has approved your permanent migration to Canada. 

Any of the following immigration documents are accepted:

  • An IRCC invitation to obtain pre-arrival services
  • A confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) letter/document
  • A passport request letter that indicates Permanent Resident visa issuance
  • An IRCC request that an applicant for permanent residence complete a medical examination
  • A Single Entry Permanent Resident Visa
  • A Permanent Resident Visa pick up notification letter

You and your family can get free in-person and online services to help prepare for and adjust to life in Canada. We call these pre-arrival services.

The CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses was founded in Ontario, Canada in 2001. CARE Centre works with nurses, employers, and stakeholders to strengthen the health care sector.
